Serving Jesus: book nine of Seeing Jesus by Jeffrey McClain Jones
Serving Jesus is book nine of ten in Jeffrey McClain Jones Seeing Jesus series. in this book Jesus appears to Bethany, just as he did to her grandma in an earlier book. He gives her comfort and life lessons while encouraging her to serve Him in the everyday business of life.
I love this book for showing a relatable Jesus. Very comforting.
So grab a beverage and settle into your favorite reading spot for a great read.
All thoughts are my own.
Her grandmother has told her so many stunning, miraculous stories. Now it’s her turn to live with that same wonder, to see some miracles of her own.
Bethany Hight has followed her heart toward a dream of her own and away from her mother’s ambitions for her. Instead of bright lights on shiny stages, Bethany aspires to teach music to children. She will have to pursue her own dream without the support of her mother, including working in a diner.
She does, however, have the support of her dad, her friends, her church and her grandma. When that grandmother develops heart trouble late in Bethany’s semester, she must decide whether to skip finals to be at Grandma’s side. But an astonishing visitor assures her that her grandma will be fine as she finishes the school year. And that stranger accompanies her on a fateful visit to Bethany’s favorite relative.
Serving Jesus is the ninth book in the Seeing Jesus series. It tells the story of Bethany, who is Gladys Hight’s granddaughter—Gladys the focus of book two, Hearing Jesus.
About the author
Jeffrey McClain Jones, known by his friends (and some enemies) as Jeff, is a bestselling Amazon author of over 30 books, specializing in supernatural Christian fiction. He grew up in a Baptist church, went to a Christian High School and graduated from Houghton College, in Houghton, NY (1984). As an undergraduate he majored in both writing and Bible (not writing the Bible). He took graduate degrees in theology and ethics at Wheaton College Graduate School and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. Finishing with a Ph.D. from Northwestern University. Born in Denver, CO, he was raised in Lincoln, NE and has lived most of his adult life in the suburbs of Chicago.
He loves movies and can recite his top ten list given the slightest provocation. Walking along the river path near his house and reading on the deck next to the pond both give him joy and negative ions (look it up). He writes all his books where he can see the bird feeder on the back deck. Don’t get him started about the latest species he saw out there.
His passion is to write about Jesus as a living person who impacts the modern world, working through the imaginations and the hands and feet of his people. He believes God is supernatural and that the followers of Jesus are too.
