Wings Of The Morning by Lori Wick

One of my all-time favorite books by Lori Wick. I have read this book several times and I still enjoy visiting with the characters from time to time. Victoria Simmons has been raised by her father and his crew on the Aramis, a sailing ship. She is known as Smokey and is a delightful character. Dallas Knight is a rival ship's captain who wants to earn enough o settle down and build ships. This is the story of how they become acquainted. Faith is carefully woven through the story and enhances the tail.

Pour up a mug of tea and settle in for an entertaining and enjoyable tale!

All thoughts are my own.

From Amazon:

Victoria "Smokey" Simmons stands silently on deck as her father's body is lowered into the Atlantic, asking God for the strength she will need to command the Aramis alone. Not wanting to remain at sea forever, Smokey dreams of the time when she can trade her life aboard ship for a home and family. When she meets another captain, Dallas Knight,  Smokey believes her dream will finally come true. But circumstances beyond their control and the schemes of a cunning pirate threaten to destroy this young couple's hope for the future.

Wings of the Morning carries readers on a tender journey of love in which painful events become lasting blessings in the Father's care.

A Stray Drop Of Blood by Roseanna White

A Stray Drop Of Blood has been on my TBR pile for quite a while. The other day I was looking for something different to read and decided This was the time for this book. Wow! What an awesome book. It takes place in the time of Christ. Ms. White has done some serious research for this story. I loved Abigail, and so does everyone else! I loved learning the customs of Jerusalem and Rome. Most of all I love the way faith in Jesus is showcased in this book!
Brew a pot of tea and grab a snack to enjoy while you settle in for a fantastic story!

All thoughts are my own.

From Amazon:

One little drop to soil her garment. One little drop to cleanse her soul. Abigail was born free, but when her parents die, she’s sold into slavery to the family of a Roman soldier in Jerusalem. Fortunately, the Visibullis family is kind, and as the years pass, she’s proud to serve them. But Abigail’s beauty attracts unwanted attention when their son, Jason, returns from Rome. She doesn’t dare to defy him…but how can she ever love him as he demands? As Jerusalem boils with political unrest and the stories of a rabbi named Jesus who snags Jason’s attention, Abigail struggles to find her new place in the family. But then tragedy strikes, and her world is shattered. Desperate for justice, Abigail attends a trial for the criminal responsible—Barabbas. She instead finds herself in the path of Jesus, condemned to die in Barabbas’s place. And when a stray drop of the rabbi’s blood falls upon her, she knows Jason had been right. This Man really is the Son of God. Only in the wake of His touch can she find what her heart has always longed for. Love, in the place she least expected to find it…and freedom for a soul that had resigned itself to slavery.

The Heart's Charge by Karen Witemeyer

The Heart's Charge by Karen Witemeyer is the continuing story of Hanger's Horsemen. Hanger's Horsemen are four ex-calvary men who left the army after the Massacre of Wounded Knee. They have dedicated their lives to atone for their actions. I love this series as it shows God can forgive any sin, we must simply ask for forgiveness and change our actions to follow His will. The plot was well developed and I liked the characters. I am looking forward to the third book in the series.

I recommend you brew a pot of tea and settle in for a wonderful story.

I was given a copy of this book by the publisher with no expectations. All thoughts are my own.

From Amazon:

Members of Hanger's Horsemen, Mark Wallace and Jonah Brooks arrive in Llano County, Texas, to deliver a steed, never expecting they'd deliver a baby as well. Left with an infant to care for, they head to a nearby foundling home, where Mark encounters the woman he'd nearly married a decade ago.

After failing at love, Katherine Palmer dedicated her life to caring for children, teaming up with Eliza Southerland to start Harmony House. From mixed ancestry, illegitimate, and female, Eliza understands the pain of not fitting society's mold. Yet those are the very attributes that lead her to minister to outcast children. The taciturn Jonah intrigues her with his courage and kindness, but there are secrets behind his eyes--ghosts from wars past and others still being waged.

However, when a handful of urchin children from the area go missing, a pair of Horsemen are exactly what the women need. Working together to find the children, will these two couples find love as well?

ABOUT THE ETERNAL LIGHT CO. FAMILY

THE FIKES FAMILY

Trent, Peyton, & Baby Presley
Hello, we are so glad you found your way to Eternal Light Co. Remember back in the day when you knew everyone on a first name basis that you did business with? If you ever had a problem you knew it would be taken care of? That's how we run Eternal Light Co.
We are from a small town called Corner, Alabama and the Eternal Light Co. warehouse is about 15 minutes from home. We currently employ 40+ local Christian workers making us one of the top jobs in our small town.

OUR STORY

Back in 2014, before Eternal Light, I was working a construction job until God had a different plan for my life.

God's plan was secretly hidden inside of a very horrific work accident that consisted of me falling through an open hole in the floor that dropped me 30+ feet slamming into steel plate flooring on the next level.

After 45 minutes of unconsciousness, I came to begging for God while trying to endure the pain of multiple broken bones, a split open head, a collapsed lung, and other life-altering injuries. Pleading for everyone around to just pray with me.

God saved my life that night, and then he left me with a voice and a mission... Eternal Light Co.

I'm on a mission to create products and build a Christian Brand that provides products, services, and an experience that brings glory to God. To make a positive impact on everyone we encounter at Eternal Light.

Since 2014, Eternal Light Co. has received over 50,000+ testimonials about how our products have impacted our customers' lives, and that is the most fulfilling part of this journey.

I appreciate your support and I look forward to hearing from you.

An Observant Wife by Naomi Ragen

Naomi Ragen's books always teach me something about the Jewish faith. This book certainly did. That said, the beginning of An Observant Wife was slow. There was too much introspection for my taste. However, I really enjoyed the second half. All of the characters were well developed. The plot was a slow build to an exciting finale, and I adored the ending. I learned many new words and customs. I found myself looking up the recipes for dishes that she described and look forward to making some of them in the future. So brew some mint tea and make some rugelach. You are sure to enjoy reading An Observant Wife.

*This is the sequel to An Unorthodox Match

I was given a copy of this book by NetGalley with no expectations. All thoughts are my own.

From Amazon:

In this rich and compassionate novel, An Observant Wife, Naomi Ragen continues the love story between newly observant California-girl Leah and ultra-Orthodox widower Yaakov from An Unorthodox Match.

From the joy of their wedding day surrounded by supportive friends and family, Yaakov and Leah are soon plunged into the complex reality of their new lives together as Yaakov leaves his beloved yeshiva to work in the city, and Leah confronts the often agonizing restrictions imposed by religious laws governing even the most intimate moments of their married lives. Adding to their difficulties is the hostility of some in the community who continue to view Leah as a dangerous interloper, questioning her sincerity and adherence to religious laws and spreading outrageous rumors.

In the midst of their heartfelt attempts to reach a balance between their human needs and their spiritual obligations, the discovery of a secret, forbidden relationship between troubled teenage daughter Shaindele and a local boy precipitates a maelstrom of life-changing consequences for all.

About the author:

Naomi Ragen

Biography

I attended The Hebrew Institute of Long Island. I then decided that I wanted to be a writer. I got a B.A. from Brooklyn College, while simultaneously attending Sara Schneirer's Hebrew Teacher's Seminary in Boro Park. I loved God. I still do. But it wasn't so clear to me whether people who wore the black outfits and wigs were truly more pious, or just stuck in some social groove. I got a Master's Degree in English from Hebrew University in 1977. I only started writing novels when I was in my late thirties, after the birth of my fourth child.

Hostile Intent by Lynette Eason

I love Lynette Eason's books! They are always full of edge-of-your-seat suspense! She always manages to keep me guessing until the end of the book. Her characters are well developed and the thread of faith runs throughout the book! Hostile Intent has a fast-moving plot with a plausible storyline. I cared about Ava and Caden and all of their friends.
So grab a sweet tea and a few cookies, you are going to want to keep reading well past your bedtime!
I was given a copy of this book by NetGalley with no expectations. All thoughts are my own.

From Amazon:

Ava Jackson entered the military shortly after high school, but her mother's illness has forced her to request an early discharge. She already lost her father while deployed, and there's no way she's going to let her mother die alone. But after a visit to the nursing facility where her mother lives, Ava is attacked walking back to her car. Fortunately, FBI Special Agent Caden Denning arrives in time to help fight off her attacker.

Caden reveals to Ava that she may hold the key to the murders of three families, and he needs her help before anyone else is harmed. The hits show a pattern, and clearly, the killer has an agenda. But if Caden and Ava can't discover what it is, Ava may be next on the hit list.

Bestselling author Lynette Eason concludes her latest suspense-filled series with a bang as secrets are revealed and the guilty are brought to justice.
