Yesterday's Tides By Roseanna White

My review ...coming soon!

My Review:

Roseanna's books never fail to please. I love the depth of story and the beautiful settings. I have to admit that this book took a while to hook me, but once it did, I certainly did not want to set it aside. I was deep in the story when my lunch ended and I had to go back to work...I was almost late! I loved visiting with characters from former books and realized that I had not yet read the Culper Ring trilogy. Although there are references to former books Yesterday's Tides can be read as a stand alone. so grab a glass of tea and settle in for a fabulous story.

I was given a copy of this book by the publisher with no expectations. All thoughts are my own.

From Amazon:

In two world wars, intelligence and counterintelligence, prejudice, and self-sacrifice collide across two generations

In 1942, Evie Farrow is used to life on Ocracoke Island, where every day is the same--until the German U-boats haunting their waters begin to wreak havoc. And when special agent Sterling Bertrand is washed ashore at Evie's inn, her life is turned upside down. While Sterling's injuries keep him inn-bound for weeks, making him even more anxious about the SS officer he's tracking, he becomes increasingly intrigued by Evie, who seems to be hiding secrets of her own.

Decades earlier, in 1914, Englishman Remington Culbreth arrives at the Ocracoke Inn for the summer, never expecting to fall in love with Louisa Adair, the innkeeper's daughter. But when war breaks out in Europe, their relationship is put in jeopardy and may not survive what lies ahead for them.

As the ripples from the Great War rock Evie and Sterling's lives in World War II, it seems yesterday's tides may sweep them all into danger again today.

"Yesterday's Tides has delicious romance, fascinating history, heart-pounding mystery, and wrenching family drama. . . . Please don't miss this novel."--SARAH SUNDIN, bestselling and award-winning author of The Sound of Light and Until Leaves Fall in Paris

"Yesterday's Tides triumphs with raw and real emotion, pulse-pounding action, and romance that pays tribute to the legacy of yesterday to anchor the path of our tomorrows."--KRISTY CAMBRON, Christy Award-winning author of The Paris Dressmaker

I Will Find You (The Epic Story Of RJ and York book 2) by Susan May Warren.

Suspense from beginning to end as York and RJ crisscross Europe trying to reunite. I loved the action and the tension. Beautiful settings. The characters are quite memorable. And I loved the surprise visit by another author's characters! I think this may be my favorite Susan May Warren book yet! Although I can't wait for the conclusion of their epic adventure in No Matter The Cost!

I suggest you block off your weekend, get your snacks and beverages ready and turn your phone off, then binge read all 3 books in RJ and York's epic adventure!

All thought's are my own.

From Amazon:

He released a sound, deep inside, part growl, part acquiescence. “Ruby Jane. You are going to be the death of me.”
“No. Not anymore. I’ve learned my lesson.”
He cocked his head.
Maybe because yes, she’d said that before, but this time — “I never again want to look out into the dark sky and wonder where you are, and if you’re alive. Never want to be more than a phone call away from you. Never want to think that you might…might think that I don’t love you.”
He blinked. Then, finally, finally, he smiled. And it was sunshine, right to her soul.
“Do you…do you still have my ring?”
He nodded and reached into the front pocket of his jeans.
How it remained untarnished, she hadn’t a clue, but there it was, still gorgeous. A beautiful vintage two carat white gold solitaire, with tiny diamonds in the cradle.
“York —”
“Just put it on your finger and keep it there.”
“You’re so bossy.” But she held out her hand for him to put it on her finger.
“I should put a tracker in it.”
She looked at him. “No need. I’m not going anywhere.”
He smiled again, a softness in his eyes that made her want to weep. “Not without me, you’re not.”

The woman he loves has vanished…

When RJ Marshall said she’d be right back, York should have objected. No, he wasn’t going to let her run off to Berlin, even if it was to save a little girl.

Only problem—she’d told him this while he was unconscious. So really, it doesn’t count, and it’s not his fault that she’s gone missing. And, he didn’t know why he expected RJ not to chase danger into trouble. But now he has to find her before criminal mastermind Alan Martin tracks her down.

She’s in over her head…

RJ didn’t mean to leave York behind, but she’s on a mission to save a little girl caught in the crossfire of Martin’s terrorist plot. Now, she’ll have to find the girl and keep her safe while leaving clues for York to follow her.

But who will catch up to her first—York, or the man with a vendetta?

The gripping romantic adventure continues across Europe in this second installment of the Epic Story of RJ and York!

The Sisters Of Sea View (On Devonshire's Shores #1) By Julie Klassen

The Sisters Of Sea View is the perfect book to enjoy on a long snowy weekend. Sea View is a large home on the shore in Devonshire England owned by the Summer family. I loved the way the Summer sisters work together to open a boarding house, something being gentleman's daughters, they know nothing about. The setting is gorgeous and the family dynamics are well thought out. Ms. Klassen has done a wonderful job of adding a bit of Dicken's whimsy to the characters. I highly recommend The Sisters Of Sea View and look forward to the second book in the series. There are many more tales to tell!

I was given a copy of The Sisters Of Sea View with no expectations. All thoughts are my own.

From Amazon:

Some guests have come for a holiday, others for hidden reasons of their own . . .

When their father's death leaves them impoverished, Sarah Summers and her genteel sisters fear they will be forced to sell the house and separate to earn livelihoods as governesses or companions. Determined to stay together, Sarah convinces them to open their seaside home to guests to make ends meet and provide for their ailing mother. Instead of the elderly invalids they expect to receive, however, they find themselves hosting eligible gentlemen. Sarah is soon torn between a growing attraction to a mysterious Scottish widower and duty to her family.

Viola Summers wears a veil to cover her scar. When forced to choose between helping in her family's new guest house and earning money to hire a maid to do her share, she chooses the latter. She reluctantly agrees to read to some of Sidmouth's many invalids, preferring the company of a few elders with failing eyesight to the fashionable guests staying in their home. But when her first client turns out to be a wounded officer in his thirties, Viola soon wishes she had chosen differently. Her new situation exposes her scars--both visible and those hidden deep within--and her cloistered heart will never be the same.

Join the Summers sisters on the Devonshire coast, where they discover the power of friendship, loyalty, love, and new beginnings.

The Return of the Gods by Jonathon Cahn

I don't usually read or review non-fiction but I was intrigued by the premise of Jonathon Cahn's newest book, The Return of the Gods. If you are wondering how our country has gotten to it's current state of affairs this book is a must read. although I find Jonathon's writing a bit repetitive the information is well worth reading. I highly recommend this book.

I bought my own copy and all thoughts are my own.

From Amazon:

In The Return of the Gods, Cahn takes the listener on a journey from an ancient parable, the ancient inscriptions in Sumer, Assyria, and Babylonia that become the puzzle pieces behind what is taking place in our world to this day, specifically in America.

The mystery involves the gods. Who are they? What are they? And is it possible that these beings, whose origins are from ancient times, are the unseen catalysts of modern culture?

Is it possible that these gods lie behind the most pivotal events, forces, and movements taking place in our nation and around the world at this very moment? Are the gods at this very moment transforming our culture, our children, our lives, and America itself?

Could this mystery have even determined the exact days on which Supreme Court decisions had to be handed down?

What is the Dark Trinity?

Is it possible that what we in the modern world take as nothing more than ancient mythology could actually possess a reality beyond our fathoming?

Who is the Possessor? The Enchanter? The Destroyer? And the Sorceress?

Could a sign that has appeared all over America and the world be linked to the gods of Mesopotamia? And if so, what does it actually mean?

Could the gods have returned to New York City and an ancient mythology played out on the streets in real time?

Is it possible that the gods lie behind everything from what appears on our computer monitors, our televisions and movie screens; to the lessons given in our classrooms; to the breakdown of the family; to wokism; to the occult; to our addictions; to the Supreme Court; to cancel culture; to children's cartoons; to every force and factor that has transformed the parameters of gender; to that which appears in our stores, on our T-shirts, and on our coffee mugs—to that which is, at this very moment, transforming America and much of the world? Is it possible that behind all these things are ancient mysteries that go back to the Middle East and ancient Mesopotamia? This and so much more, most of which we can't even reveal in this description, will be uncovered.

Is it possible that the gods are even affecting your life right now? How can you recognize it? And what can you do about it?

The Return of the Gods is not only one of the most explosive books you'll ever listen to but also one of the most profound. It will reveal the most stunning secrets and truths behind what is happening before your eyes in America and the nations. You will see things, even in your world, in a whole new light. With such chapters as “The House of Spirits,” “The Avatar,” “The Masters,” “The Deep Magic,” and “The Day of the Goddess,” The Return of the Gods will take listeners on a fascinating, unforgettable, and mind-blowing journey that will leave them stunned and with the ability to see the world as they never have before.

Be prepared to be blown away as you open up Jonathan Cahn's most explosive book ever, The Return of the Gods!

Out of The Night ( The epic Story Of RJ and York book 1) by Susan May Warren

Warren's Out Of The Night continues the Marshal family saga. York Newgate has the perfect proposal planned...what could go wrong in Paris right? All York wants is for RJ to say yes to him and a peaceful life in Shelly, OR. Then a host of characters both friends and allies begin to pop up. which life will RJ choose? Sit back and settle in for one of RJ and York's most suspenseful adventures yet!

So pour up a cup of coffee and have enjoy a pain au chocolat while you devour this book!

This review is of a book I purchased and is my true and honest opinion.

From Amazon:

See, this was why York should put a GPS tracker on the woman he loved.
Not that he would, but if he did, then he wouldn’t show up in a town and see said woman trying to do a Spiderman along the face of a building.
And, if York hadn’t simply followed his instincts and taken off across the street she would have left an ugly splat on the sidewalk, probably taking out a planter of geraniums.
As it were—“Gotcha.”
He wasn’t trying to be cute—it was more of a statement of relief, even fury, the spill over of watching her dangle, then slip off the balcony. The fear he wouldn’t reach her in time.
For a second, she just stared at him, also breathing hard, those blue eyes blinking in disbelief. Then, “York?”
“It’s not Superman.”
Then she threw her arms around him, holding so tight she might cut off his breathing. “You’re here.”
“I’m here.” She could probably feel his heart pounding, trying to leave his body.
“How did you find me?”

A steal-your-breath, fast-paced adventure from a master! Be prepared to have your heart warmed and ripped out at the same time! Warren’s skilled craftsmanship pits an indefatigable RJ and rugged York against daunting enemies in this nonstop action and heart-pounding extension of the Montana Marshalls that we all love. Feed your kids, walk your dog, and grab a drink because once you dive in, there’s no escaping!
~Ronie Kendig, bestselling and award-winning author

“The best parts of an action movie mixed with the best kind of romance. My heart is still pounding. You don’t want to miss this series!”
~Lisa Phillips, USA Today bestselling author

He’s not looking for trouble…

All former spy and current national security agent York Newgate wants is to propose to the woman he loves, RJ Marshall. Then they can move to Shelly, Washington, and start the calm, safe life he’s been dreaming of for over a year.

Too bad trouble doesn’t agree…

Or maybe RJ simply attracts trouble because she’s just going out for coffee when she spots a wanted, known terrorist standing in the middle of a street in Paris. At least she
thinks it’s international criminal Alan Martin, the mastermind behind a plot to kill the president.

But he’s in jail, right?

Wrong. Martin has escaped, and it’s up to RJ—and York—to keep him in their sights until he can be apprehended. But chasing down Martin means following him into the darkness of whatever plot he’s cooked up now.

Will he ever outrun trouble to find his happy ending?

So much for York’s epic proposal. Now, he just wants to escape Europe with their lives.

The romantic trilogy ignites in book one of the Epic Story of RJ and York!

My favorite books of 2022

Here are my favorite books from 2022 in no particular order. Honestly you can't go wrong with any of them, it was a fabulous year in Christian fiction! I have to add that this year had some of the prettiest covers! Especially Roseanna White, Toni Shiloh and Jody Hedlund.
