A Return To Hawthorne House by Kristi Ann Hunter

A Lady never passes up an adventure. It was so wonderful to visit with the Hawthorne family. I loved reading how Caroline, the Duchess of Riverton found a second chance at love. Always A Lady falls before A Lady Of Esteem and is a total delight to read. The second novella, A Lady's Maid, is the story of Lydia, Finch, and Lord Trent's adventure as a matchmaker.

I loved both books and am so grateful that Ms. Hunter has shared more stories of Hawthorne House's wonderful family. Lady Miranda is sure to recommend that you brew a pot of your favorite tea, while Lady Adelaide would recommend a cozy nook in which to curl up while you venture back to Hawthorne house.

All thoughts are my own.

From Amazon:

Always a Lady

Despite the fact that her daughter is not cooperating, Caroline, Duchess of Riverton is determined to ensure every one of her children marries someone they love as much as she loved their late father. William, the widowered Earl of Blackstone, is delighted to have his days of escorting daughters approaching an end. The last thing he expects is to find himself drawn to a woman who is just starting such a journey. Are they each too set in their ways to grasp this chance to have a second love?

The Lady’s Maid

When Lydia Smith began her career as a parlor maid, she knew love and marriage wasn’t likely in her future. Dreaming about the boy next door as she dusted seemed harmless until he started working as the new valet under the same roof. When Finch needs her help with a special project, will it give them a chance to defy expectations and find love or ruin their happiness forever?

Sundown (Sky King Ranch #3) by Susan May Warren

Sundown is the exciting conclusion to Susan May Warren's Sky King Ranch trilogy. The book is edge-of-your-seat suspense and romance from the first page to the last. I loved how fast-paced and exciting the plot was. The main characters, Colt and Tae were intriguing and I found myself cheering them on. I loved how Ms. Warren brought in characters from the previous two books and many of her other series. Best of all she weaves God's forgiveness and redemptive powers through the story. Ms. Warren is in my opinion one of the best authors writing romantic suspense right now.

I was given a copy of Sundown by the publisher with no expectations. All thoughts are my own.

From Amazon:

Former Delta Operative Colt Kingston knows when someone is lying. He may not know the truth, but he sure doesn't trust Tae, the woman who is caring for his ailing father at Sky King Ranch. Behind those beautiful blue eyes, he can tell there is a troubled--and smart--woman.

A few of her stories prove true--he's found the crashed plane and the dead body inside. Still, her story of survival seems too incredible to believe . . . until the thugs she claims to be hunting her show up and threaten Sky King Ranch. Now Tae must disappear, along with her secrets.

But Colt's not about to let her go it alone. And when they discover that her secrets include the antidote to a plague that threatens the world, it'll take all three Kingston brothers to save the country they've vowed to protect.

Susan May Warren brings her Sky King Ranch series to a climactic close with this high-stakes race against the clock.

Dangerous Beauty by Melissa Koslin

Dangerous Beauty by Melissa Koslin had an interesting premise. A young woman from a poor Mexican village is being trafficked. A young man recognizes what is going on and rescues her. Good so far. But as the story goes on it strained my belief. The fact that a young village woman could go from knowing very little English and become fluent within weeks stretches the realms of belief. Also, she quickly becomes a counselor to the man that rescued her.  Furthermore, she becomes adept at self-defense in this same time frame. Although this book had promise the story was too unbelievable for me. I must admit in all fairness that I did not like the male Main carrier either. Even though I did not care for this story a fellow reviewer loved it.

So settle back with a large pot of tea and an open mind. I hope you find this book more enjoyable than I did.

I was given a copy of this book by the publisher with o expectations. All thoughts are my own.
