It is always wonderful to come home to Blessing! Most of my favorite characters still reside there  with a few new faces thrown in. There are problems, but the folks always come together and make the most of things. Ingeborg, Kaaren and Pastor Solberg are there to help everybody through the twists and turns of life. Lauraine Snelling has created a saga with the Bjorklands. About Lauraine Snelling from her Amazon page:
Award-winning and best selling author Lauraine Snelling began living her dream to be a writer with her first published book for young adult readers, Tragedy on the Toutle, in 1982. She has since continued writing more horse books for young girls, adding historical and contemporary fiction and nonfiction for adults and young readers to her repertoire. All told, she has over eighty books published with more than 4 million copies in print.

Shown in her contemporary romances and women’s fiction, a hallmark of Lauraine’s style is writing about real issues of forgiveness, loss, domestic violence, and cancer within a compelling story. Her work has been translated into Norwegian, Danish, and German, and she has won the Romantic Times Career Achievement award for Inspirational Fiction, the Silver Angel Award for An Untamed Land and a Romance Writers of America Golden Heart for Song of Laughter.

As a sought after speaker, Lauraine encourages others to find their gifts and live their lives with humor and joy. Her readers clamor for more books more often, and Lauraine would like to comply ... if only her paintbrushes and easel didn’t call quite so loudly.

Lauraine and her husband, Wayne, have two grown sons, and live in the Tehachapi Mountains with a watchdog Basset named Winston. They love to travel, most especially in their forty-foot motor coach, which they affectionately deem “a work in progress”.

Newton & Polly by Jody Hedlund

Amazing Grace has always been one of my favorite songs and it is great to finally know the back story to the man who wrote the song. John Newton was clearly not a saint but his life story reveals how G-d can redeem all of us, we only need to ask. G-d will allow you to hit rock bottom if need be to get your attention. I love how Ms. Hedlund brings historical characters to life. She does an amazing job of taking the bare bones of history and clothing said bones with rich details of what might have been. I always look forward with great anticipation to Ms. Hedlund's books. I am never disappointed.
I was given this book by Bloggingforbooks.com. All thoughts are my own.

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
that saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now am found
Now remembered as the author of the world s most famous hymn, in the mid-eighteenth century as England and France stand on the brink of war, John Newton is a young sailor wandering aimlessly through life. His only duty is to report to his ship and avoid disgracing his father until the night he hears Polly Catlett s enchanting voice, caroling. He s immediately smitten and determined to win her affection.
An intense connection quickly forms between the two, but John s reckless spirit and disregard for the Christian life are concerns for the responsible, devout Polly. When an ill-fated stop at a tavern leaves John imprisoned and bound, Polly must choose to either stand by his side or walk out of his life forever. Will she forfeit her future for the man she loves?
Step back through the pages of history, to uncover the true love story behind a song that continues to stir the hearts and ignite the faith of millions around the globe."

Time Tsunami by Danele Rotharmel

Excerpt from Timewave Dynamics 805
What is a Time Tsunami? It is a phenomenon that is set in motion when a time counselor destabilizes a captured timewave causing it to split in half. When the two halves begin rushing toward the temporal shore, the fabric of time unravels. It is our responsibility to ensure that a Time Tsunami never occurs.
               Dr. William Ableman

The Five Immutable Laws
1) A case subject's past must be thoroughly researched.
2) A case subject must undergo extensive interviews before being selected.
3) A case subject's tipping point towards evil must be determined
4) A time counselor must never reveal his or her last name or personal history.
5) A time counselor must never be blinded by conceit or supposition.
TEMCO Code of Conduct, 5th edition.

Gil Montgomery, a cadet in the Temporal Counseling Program, can’t wait to pass her field exam and become a professional time surfer. The TEMCO program targets death-row offenders for time-based counseling while they’re children. For her exam, Gil will travel twenty-four years into the past to counsel ten-year-old Danny Winston before he murders his abusive babysitter, Rick Olsen. Preventing the stabbing should stop the chain of events leading to Danny’s eventual execution. Gil’s assignment seems simple until her advisor, Dr. William Ableman, learns that Rick is a serial killer targeting Danny’s mother. If Gil stays and protects the Winstons, she might not survive. William wants the woman he loves to be pulled from the field, but if Gil fails to complete her assignment, it will unleash a Time Tsunami and destroy the timeline. As TEMCO undergoes an emergency lockdown, and Gil’s fellow cadets try to figure out what’s happening, Gil and William learn the importance of faith and the price of true love. Everyone’s fate is resting in Gil’s hands, but does she have the strength she needs to defeat a ruthless serial killer intent on annihilating everyone in his path?

If possible I would give Danele Rotharmel's Time Tsunami 6 stars. It is one of the most engrossing and fresh books that I have read this year. The characters are for the most part realistic enough that I really cared what happened to them. I love the way Ms. Rotharmel treats time, and her theory on counseling children before they get into trouble is awesome. make sure you pay close attention to the various characters because not everyone is who they seem to be.

Danele Rotharmel grew up with a love of the literary word, and by age five, she knew she wanted to be a writer. However, her life took an unexpected turn when a mysterious illness brought her close to death. Eventually, she learned that a low-level carbon monoxide leak from a faulty furnace in her home was slowly poisoning her. This poisoning triggered severe Multiple Chemical Sensitivity and partial amnesia.

During this time, the hardest thing she faced was a crisis of faith. She had to quit her job and stop going to church. She couldn’t write, couldn’t drive, and could barely remember who she was. To say she was upset with the Lord was an understatement. She began reexamining her faith in light of her illness, and eventually, she came to the firm conclusion that God is real, God is good, God is interested and involved, and God is trustworthy regardless of tragedy.

When her illness became even more severe, she was put into quarantine and could only talk to friends and extended family through the glass of a window. This quarantine lasted for seven years. During this time, she wrote the first six books in "The Time Counselor Chronicles." The first book in the series, "Time Tsunami," was published by Prism Book Group in January 2016. The second book, "Time Trap," was published by Prism in June 2016. The third book, "Time Search," is coming soon. Danele's books may be purchased through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, and the iBook store.

Danele currently lives in Colorado where she continues to write. Although her journey back to health was long and difficult, it provided her with the opportunity to grow closer to God and to write her books. For that, she is forever thankful.

Living in G-d's Army by Rabbi Moshe Laurie

I don't usually read non-fiction, but I enjoy Rabbi Laurie's television programs, so when I saw he had written a book I decided to see what he had to say. Living in G-d's army is short but to the point. He is as enthusiastic a writer as he is a teacher. The book was fast moving and quite interesting. His writing is a bit choppy but he does manage to get his message across. I would recommend this book to anyone struggling with how they fit in G-d's army.

About the Rabbi:Biography
Born March 23, 1944 in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York. For 39 years a practicing Orthodox Jew, always seeking the Messiah. Trained to become a Warrior of David. Served in the U. S. Marine Corps.
Lived in Israel for 15 years: Former member of Israeli Security Services (Mossad), Israeli National Police, Israeli Defense Forces, with rabbinic dispensation to act as a non-Jew to carry out the work (dispensation for assassination not required).

Testimony
On November 14, 1982, he was filming a videotape for a sports league in a Catholic Church in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was uncomfortable and would not speak to anyone because he had been taught all his life that the devil was in the Christian churches. He heard God speak audibly to him, “You can serve the Father through Me. You will serve the Father through Me.”

He began to cry and he knew that he knew that he knew. However, he did not know anything about the New Testament except how to refute it.

To become a Jew requires at least one year of study under a Rabbi to learn 613 overt acts required each day. He immediately looked for someone to help him.

He went to the Assembly of God church in Las Cruces and found a pastor, asking what he should do. The pastor said, “Shut up! Sit down and start reading the Bible.” Three days later he went to a prayer meeting at the Assembly of God church and the assistant pastor said, “Let’s pray for this woman to receive the Holy Spirit.” Moshe was sitting next to the patio door in case he needed to make an escape since he still was afraid he might get into false doctrine. He started to pray for her - putting his hand out for her and the next thing he knew his hands went straight up in the air - then he fell to his knees speaking fluently in tongues. He knew what he was saying - and also what the pastor was saying in tongues.

Disowned - Divorced - Funeral
Moshe returned to Israel and told his family. He was divorced against his will and lost his children. His family had a funeral service for Moshe and disowned him.

Restoration
His mother received the Messiah before she died. Since then his children have been reconciled to him and 2 out of 3 have been saved. He became an evangelical pastor and in 1998, became rabbi over a Messianic congregation.

Peace in Israel
Rabbi Laurie feels God has put the Jews as protectorates to preserve the land He has given them. Most Palestinians want peace but there is a growing group who want to destroy all the Israeli people. Israel cannot give up the land - it is not theirs to give.

The Wedding Shop by Rachel Hauck

I have always enjoyed reading Rachel Hauck's books and The Wedding Shop is one more to add to her impressive list of novels. Ms. Hauck does an awesome job of making her character's realistic. The duel storyline works really well with many twists and turns along the way. I enjoyed learning the history of the Wedding Shop and how it tied to Ms. Haucks other two books, The Wedding Dress, and The Wedding Chapel. Although all three books are related, they can be read as stand-alone novels.
I love the theme of these books, that real love is worth waiting for, and even more important G-d can and will forgive and restore no matter how badly we goof up.
I was given this book by NetGalley.com for review purposes with no expectations. All thoughts are my own.

From Goodreads: Two women separated by decades. Both set out to help others find their dreams when their own have crumbled.

It’s the early 1930s, but Cora Scott is walking in stride as a career woman after having inherited her great aunt’s wedding shop in Heart’s Bend, Tennessee, where brides come from as far away as Birmingham to experience her famed bridal treatment. Meanwhile, Cora is counting down the days until her own true love returns from the river to make her his bride. But days turn into months and months to years. All the while, Birch Good continues to woo Cora and try to show her that while he is solid and dependable, he can sweep her off her feet.

More than eighty years later, former Air Force Captain Haley Morgan has returned home to Heart’s Bend after finishing her commitment to military service. After the devastating death of her best friend, Tammy, and discovering the truth about the man she loved, Haley is searching for her place in life.

When Haley decides to reopen the romantic but abandoned wedding shop where she and Tammy played and dreamed as children, she begins a journey of courage, mystery, and love.

As Cora’s and Haley’s stories intertwine through time in the shadow of the beloved wedding shop, they both discover the power of their own dreams and the magic of everyday love.
