Serving Jesus: book nine of Seeing Jesus by Jeffrey McClain Jones
Serving Jesus is book nine of ten in Jeffrey McClain Jones Seeing Jesus series. in this book Jesus appears to Bethany, just as he did to her grandma in an earlier book. He gives her comfort and life lessons while encouraging her to serve Him in the everyday business of life.
I love this book for showing a relatable Jesus. Very comforting.
So grab a beverage and settle into your favorite reading spot for a great read.
All thoughts are my own.
Her grandmother has told her so many stunning, miraculous stories. Now it’s her turn to live with that same wonder, to see some miracles of her own.
Bethany Hight has followed her heart toward a dream of her own and away from her mother’s ambitions for her. Instead of bright lights on shiny stages, Bethany aspires to teach music to children. She will have to pursue her own dream without the support of her mother, including working in a diner.
She does, however, have the support of her dad, her friends, her church and her grandma. When that grandmother develops heart trouble late in Bethany’s semester, she must decide whether to skip finals to be at Grandma’s side. But an astonishing visitor assures her that her grandma will be fine as she finishes the school year. And that stranger accompanies her on a fateful visit to Bethany’s favorite relative.
Serving Jesus is the ninth book in the Seeing Jesus series. It tells the story of Bethany, who is Gladys Hight’s granddaughter—Gladys the focus of book two, Hearing Jesus.
About the author
Jeffrey McClain Jones, known by his friends (and some enemies) as Jeff, is a bestselling Amazon author of over 30 books, specializing in supernatural Christian fiction. He grew up in a Baptist church, went to a Christian High School and graduated from Houghton College, in Houghton, NY (1984). As an undergraduate he majored in both writing and Bible (not writing the Bible). He took graduate degrees in theology and ethics at Wheaton College Graduate School and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. Finishing with a Ph.D. from Northwestern University. Born in Denver, CO, he was raised in Lincoln, NE and has lived most of his adult life in the suburbs of Chicago.
He loves movies and can recite his top ten list given the slightest provocation. Walking along the river path near his house and reading on the deck next to the pond both give him joy and negative ions (look it up). He writes all his books where he can see the bird feeder on the back deck. Don’t get him started about the latest species he saw out there.
His passion is to write about Jesus as a living person who impacts the modern world, working through the imaginations and the hands and feet of his people. He believes God is supernatural and that the followers of Jesus are too.

Criss Cross (Holly 1) by C C Warrens
I've just finished Criss Cross by C C Warrens and wow, I'm glad she is a novelist. Her story was down right disturbing at times, but I really enjoyed reading it. Criss Cross is extremely suspenseful with Holly being actively stalked by someone from a past she can't remember. The plot is well thought out and I enjoyed the relationship between all of the characters. I look forward to reading the next book after I recover from this one.
So grab a blnket and your favorite beverage, grab your dog or a taser lol to keep you feeling safe and settle in for a great read.
All thoughts are my own
From Amazon:
Safety is just an illusion...
An illusion shattered by the whisper of footsteps in the darkness behind her.
Holly has drifted from one place to the next for as long as she can remember, never settling long enough to build a life. It's the only way she knows how to survive in a world that has no place for someone like her. But when mysterious footsteps follow her home, and she finds a cryptic note taped to her door, she realizes she's stayed too long.
The man she's hiding from has found her. But how?
When people start dying and old, forgotten memories begin to surface, Holly finds herself wrapped up in a terrifying mystery with God, a pushy Southern detective, and a killer with one thing on his mind: her.
“I think that Holly might be my very favorite character that I've ever read! I love her! I laughed out loud, shook with terror, and stayed up into the wee hours of the morning to see what happened next. So good!” –Amazon reviewer.
“The book is full of edge-of-your-seat, hold-your-breath suspense.” –Amazon reviewer.
Jesus and laughter have brought C.C. Warrens through some very difficult times in life, and she weaves both into every story she writes, creating a world of breath-stealing intensity, laugh-out-loud humor, and a sparkle of hope. Writing has been a slowly blossoming dream inside her for most of her life until one day it spilled out onto the pages that would become her first published book.
If she’s not writing, she’s attempting to bake something—however catastrophic that might be—or she’s enjoying the beauty of the outdoors with her husband. One of the many things she’s learned since she started this journey is that the best way to write a book is to go on a long stroll with her husband. That is when the characters—from their backgrounds to the moments that make them laugh or bubble over with anger—come to life.
**Disclaimer from the author**
If you're looking for a cozy mystery or romantic comedy with an ending wrapped up in a nice little bow, well . . . these books aren't for you. My books are intended to reflect the real world—a world that is messy, terrifying, wonderful, and sprinkled with humor. My hope is that these books will touch someone who has been through something traumatic and remind them that even in our darkest moments, God is with us.

From Amazon:
Grace Like a River Flows is Christian fiction. Glencoe, by another name, is real and I pastored there for five years. Many characters are based on real people I knew. But the great story? It's all made up. Well, almost.”The tracks have separated this town for a hundred years, but one day God's grace began flowing like River. And, like a mighty, raging river, you can't control it and you can't stop it. God's grace goes where He wants.Grace Like a River Flows is about very flawed people who live on both sides of the tracks which run through Glencoe. Lives are changed. Families are transformed. And an old mainline church is renewed. Come meet the cast of characters who will be touched by God. Charlotte (featured on the cover) has seen the tracks. Will God’s grace touch her life? Look for the surprise ending! You’ll never see it coming.

But when a mysterious email about the Hearts Bend Inn—the place where her mother died fifteen years ago—lands in her inbox, everything she's buried threatens to surface.
Some places hold more than memories. They hold the keys to who you're meant to become.
