Flight risk by Cara Putman

Savannah Daniels has made cameos in previous books by Cara Putnam but in Flight Risk, we get to know her better. She is smart and tenacious. she also loves her niece to distraction. So even if it means dealing with her ex-husband, she will do whatever it takes to keep her niece safe. I really enjoy reading Ms. Putman's books. They always contain strong women who depend on God. Ms. Putman also does a wonderful job of creating suspense and keeping me guessing until the last quarter of the book. I look forward to reading more of her creations in the future. So grab a glass of sweet5 tea and settle in for a great read.

Since the time I could read Nancy Drew, I have wanted to write mysteries. In 2005 I attended a book signing at my local Christian bookstore. The rest, as they say, is history. Four wonderful stories by four master storytellers! I loved these stories about 4 women of various backgrounds who decide to make a new life for themselves by working as Harvey Girls. Each story was interesting and full of fascinating details of long-ago days. I loved learning about the Harvey House restaurant chain and the detail that kept them running on time. So grab a pot of coffee and a plate of cakes, then settle in for a satisfying read!

Poppy by Avi

          

I was reading this with my 6th-grade reading group. I have to admit I have never read anything by Avi before, but I really enjoyed Poppy. Poppy shows that it is possible to move on and accomplish great things even though you are small and frightened. I loved her perseverance. The only downside is that I found out Poppy is book #2 out of a series of 6 books...so my TBR grows. LOL

So grab a mug of hot chocolate and some cookies, then settle in for an enjoyable read about a mouse and an owl and a battle of wits.
