Cold Shot by Dani Pettrey

She has set up a terrific first book for what I hope will be a long series. Griffin, Declan, Parker and the missing Luke are best friends from grade school, but something has come between them. A dead body, buried in a civil war era graveyard sounds normal, right? But this body has been there less than a year. Now someone wants this to remain a secret, and they will kill anyone who tries to solve the mystery. Finley Scott has secrets of her own, but is drawn into the crime as an anthropologist working on a dig at the cemetery. She teams up with Griffin to solve the case, But finds more than she bargains for in the arms of the strong, silent man.
I love the way Dani weaves the themes of forgiveness and family through the storylines. Her characters, while certainly fallible, grow in their faith. The story is sound and well written. I was up late several nights because I had to know what happened next. I can't wait for book two and I want to know who the focus of number two will be!
I received this book free for review purposes, but all opinions are my own.
