A Heart Most Certain by Melissa Jagears
What is the difference between an upright moral woman who marries simply for financial gain and the prostitute who sells her body for money? Melissa Jagears' A heart Most Certain tells the story of one such woman, Lydia King. Lydia is almost engaged to Sebastian Little, the mayor's son. Once married she will want for nothing, except love. Nicholas Lowe is a miserly man who refuses to help fund the Moral Society. It is up to Lydia to prove her worth to the Littles by getting a donation from Mr. Lowe.
The story is strong, with interesting , well-developed characters. I am glad to see that it is the first in a series of books. I look forward to visiting the town of Teaville again.

To Follow Her Heart by Rebecca DeMarino
To Follow Her Heart by Rebecca DeMarino is the third and final book in the Southold Chronicles. The story loosely follows the history of the author's family as they settled Long Island in the 1600's. This novel focuses on Patience Terry and her longing to marry Jeremy Horton sea captain. I love the way Ms. DeMarino brings history to life. Her love of history is quite evident in all of the small details and I really enjoyed the recipes she included. I also enjoyed the scripture that she used throughout the book. Reading this novel was bittersweet as I got to enjoy time with characters from her previous two books, but I had to face the fact that this was the last visit I would have to Southold. I look forward to Ms. DeMarino's next book whatever the subject may be.

A Lady of Esteem by Kristi Ann Hunter
For being a novella, A Lady of Esteem packs one heck of a story into those few pages. I loved the story and the characters. I usually do not like novellas, but this one is definitely a keeper. If you love Regency, you will love Kristi Ann Hunter;s books. So grab an iced tea and settle in for a good read!

Hold Me Close by Margeurite Gray a review
Hold Me Close was slow to engage me, but once I got into the book I loved it. It is primarily the story of an unattached young Frenchman who moves to Charles Town SC during the days leading up to the Revolutionary War. He is firm in his intentions to remain neutral but finds that everyone must determine for himself what is right.
This book has something for everyone, romance, and intrigue as you try to determine who can be trusted. The characters are well developed and I found myself trying to recall my high-school French in order to follow a few of the conversations. I loved the descriptions of the houses and menus. The only downside for me is waiting for the next book to come out as this one ends in a cliffhanger.
