In Search Of A Prince by Toni Shiloh

This is the first book I have read by Toni Shilo. It was a fantastic read, one of those books that you want to savor, but you also want to know what happens so can't put it down. This book can be described as The Princess Diaries goes to Africa with the added benefit of the characters being practicing Christians. I loved Brielle and Mori. They are a sweet couple and I sincerely hope Ms. Shiloh writes a sequel! I would love to follow their reign and the growth of their family!. The setting is lovely and the suspense was very engaging.

Brew up a pot of tea and settle in where you can't be disturbed! I hope you enjoy this story as much as I did!

I was given a copy of this book by NetGalley with no expectations. All thoughts are my own.

From Amazon:

It seems like a dream come true . . . until it forces her to question everything.

Brielle Adebayo is fully content teaching at a New York City public school and taking annual summer vacations with her mother to Martha's Vineyard. But everything changes when her mom drops a bombshell--Brielle is really a princess in the island kingdom of Ọlọrọ Ilé, off the coast of Africa, and she must immediately assume her royal position, since the health of her grandfather, the king, is failing.

Distraught by all the secrets her mother kept, Brielle is further left spinning when the Ọlọrọ Ilé Royal Council brings up an old edict that states she must marry before her coronation, or the crown will pass to another. Brielle is uncertain if she even wants the throne, and with her world totally shaken, where will she find the courage to take a chance on love and brave the perils a wrong decision may bring?

To Treasure An Heiress by Roseanna White

To Treasure An Heiress, book 2 in Roseanna White's Secrets of the Isles is a fabulous book! It was fascinating reading about the Scilly Islands. On these cold winter days, I really enjoyed the warmth of the islands. Beth and Sheridan are adorable and I love their witty conversations! The treasure hunt kept me engaged and cheering Beth on. I loved the plot twists. The secondary characters are quite well developed and I feel as though I had a lovely vacation in a time gone by. My suggestion is to curl up under a sun lamp, with a pitcher of ice tea and enjoy a lovely adventure!

I was given a copy of this book by NetGalley with no expectations. All thoughts are my own.

From Amazon:

1906

Beth Tremayne has always been drawn to adventure. During her childhood, she fed that desire by exploring every inch of the Isles of Scilly. Now, after stumbling across an old collection of letters and a map buried on her family's property, she's found more adventure than she ever anticipated in the hunt for pirate treasure. But in order to discover where the clues lead, she must search alongside Lord Sheridan, a man she finds insufferable.

Sheridan has spent years pursuing whatever archaeological interests pique his imagination. And when he discovers that Beth's search connects with one of his far-removed pirate ancestors, he can't help getting involved. Plus, he finds her irresistible, even though she insists he stole a prized possession of hers.

As they work together following different clues and drawing closer to danger, they start to piece together a story of tragic love and piratical adventure. But which treasure will bring the greatest surprise--the one they find in each other or the one just out of their reach?

My top 10 books of 2021

I planned for this to be my top 10 list but there are a few series that made the list making it more than 10 books. So in no particular order here is the list!

Never Leave Me by Jody Hedlund

Never Leave Me is book two in the Waters Of Time series by Jody Hedlund. I sincerely hope there will be a book three as I adore the characters in these books. I want to know more about Ellen and Harrison's adventures and also about Marion and William's life in the past. These books are fascinating and compel one to read them quickly, leaving one longing for more. The setting, both contemporary and in the past is described in intricate detail. I loved the plot with all of its twists and turns. So grab yourself a copy and settle in for a fabulous story. Although you won't have the healing waters you can certainly brew up a pot of tea to enjoy while you read.

I was given a copy of this book by NetGalley with no expectations. All thoughts are my own.

From Amazon:

In the last stages of a genetic disease, Ellen Creighton has decided to live out her remaining days at the estate of her longtime friend Harrison Burlington. Harrison cares deeply for Ellen, but as a wheelchair-bound paraplegic, he's never allowed himself to get serious in a relationship. However, he's desperately trying to save her by finding the holy water that is believed to heal any disease.

When he locates two flasks, Ellen refuses to drink one of them because she believes the holy water killed her sister and father. In an effort to convince her to take it, Harrison ingests the contents first, and when Ellen witnesses the effects, she can no longer deny the power of the substance in the bottles. Dangerous criminals are also seeking the holy water, and Ellen soon learns they will go to any lengths to get the powerful drug--including sending her back into the past to find it for them.

Feeling responsible for her brother's desperate state, she reluctantly agrees.

The medieval monastery turned grand hotel is rumored to be haunted. Once there, Rebecca begins noticing strange things, including a figure in a hooded black gown gliding silently through the abbey's cloisters. For there she encounters Sir Frederick--magistrate, widower, and former neighbor--who long ago broke her heart.

When the famous author is found murdered in the abbey, Sir Frederick begins questioning staff and guests and quickly discovers that several people held grudges against the man, including Miss Lane and her brother. Entwined, Knights Of The Brethren Book 2 by Jody Hedlund

Entwined, Knights Of The Brethren, Book 2 by                                           Jody Hedlund is a fabulous medieval Tale. I loved the setting being in Norvegia a frozen northern country in which dragons still exist! There are wise men and knights, kings, a queen, and a couple of princesses. Who are the good guys and who is evil? Ms. Hedlund brings to life the story of Arthur's sword in an entirely new story. Add in a few Bible references for a well-balanced story. Lis and Sir Ansgar are a fabulous pair, I love reading about their adventures together! I can not wait for the next book!

So grab a pot of tea and a cozy blanket! This is a fantastic book to read on a cold dreary day!
